Dear Friends of Buehler Park:

Our October 1 BBQ and "fun" raiser in Buehler Park was a great success.

The weather couldn't have been better. There was plenty of delicious food. Everyone had a great time and no one went away hungry. The mood was upbeat. Our numbers were swelled by park users who knew little or nothing of our legal battle and expressed dismay that anyone would even think of selling Buehler Park. Over 100 people attended.

We were blessed with music from the dulcimer and guitar group,
Sometimes Tuesdays, consisting of Mike Pace, Jim Joiner, Karen Malen, Susan Wrassman, and Carol Spurlock.

Katy Henry, president of Great Rivers Environmental Law Center, drove all the way from St. Louis to be with us at our BBQ and meet with Buehler Park activists.

Special thanks to our director of activism, Elaine Grover, and to
everyone else who worked or contributed to make our BBQ a success.

The activism committee is already planning another event for the
Spring.

Checks keep coming in, but at this point we are very close to having
raised $900 for our legal council at Great Rivers. It is, of course, not too late to contribute.

Checks can be sent to
Great Rivers

Please put Buehler Park in the memo line. Great Rivers is a 501(c)(3) organization. Donations are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.
